To Hell-Oween

It was Halloween in the mid 90's, and I received a call from my mom that my dad had been in a terrible accident.

Dad and grandpa were just leaving the hobby farm with Klause, dad's dog, from gathering wood. Grandpa said that there was a young pine tree in the road that dad decided to remove off the path. My dad was an excellent woodsman, and did much work with cutting down trees for firewood for many years. So he understood that young Jack-pines were called, "widow makers" by the Lumber Jacks. Why my dad last minute decided to clear the path of that young pine tree, instead of just driving around it, we will never really know. But if you follow along with me, perhaps we will get a deeper understanding of what possibly was the cause of that accident. I am convinced that the thin veil of the dark spiritual world... was at work.

You see...a young pine tree has the tendency to split in half when being chopped or sawed down, and hit the person in the head. This is why the Lumber Jacks call them widow makers, and that is what happened to my beloved dad, that fateful Halloween so many years ago now. The force of the split pine hit him in the head, and hurtled him into another tree, so he had swelling on both sides of his brain. My grandpa found help, and an ambulance was was sent for dad. Mom said she was able to see him and talk to him just before he was life flight-ed out to a bigger hospital, that could handle such trauma. Mom assured her husband of almost 55 years, that Klaus was ok, dad squeezed her hand. Mom's last words to dad before he lost all consciousness were, "I love you." He squeezed her hand again, letting her know he understood and returned his love for her.

After 2 weeks of constant vigil for my father, we had to say goodbye, and dad entered into his heavenly abode.

I am sharing this because, bad things do happen to good people. Especially for those who are not wise to ha'satan's devices, and it is my heart to shine light on that darkness. I hope that some may have ears to hear, and turn from the dark celebration of Halloween...I now call Helloween.
My dad was a christian man, but our little church didn't do teaching on how to do spiritual warfare. Most churches at that time didn't, and even today it seems teaching spiritual warfare has been lost in the dust. So celebrating Halloween is a very common thing to do in many communities large and small. I pray that there will be more and more churches that will start to teach the real meaning and history of Samhain, it is not a fun and harmless thing to do. Even though you have not gone through such a tragic experience as our family did, people unwittingly open doors to demonic activity of all kinds of mischief and troubles. It could be sickness, confusion, depression or financial issues...and yes even death and not just on Helloween. We really do not have a full understanding how these things effect us, and how they can open doors for demonic activity, but they can and we need to learn how to combat this touchy subject.

The times we are living in, have become very dark, now more than ever. I don't think I am speaking just from suspicion because of what happened to my dad, but do use caution when your out and about doing things on Halloween. And if you get a sense you shouldn't do a certain thing.... let it wait, there is always tomorrow.

~The Other Side of Halloween~

If I can be honest, dressing up for Halloween is fun. It inspires our creative side. And personally, I am glad I was able to join in on the fun when I was a kid, and as adults, we all have gone to some fun Halloween parties. It is fun to see the kiddies all dressed up too, I know...I GET IT!!!  But once I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior... I knew in my heart that this was not something that was pleasing to the Lord. So, I made the shift to not celebrate that any longer. My eyes opened to the truth behind that day and the darkness associated with it.
We all have to make our choices in this matter, and I personally do not judge anyone for celebrating it. I believe if we do take our children to a Harvest party or a Trunk or Treat party... be free to do so, but also teach your children the real meaning of what Halloween stands for. Allow them to make their choice and support them as they make their journey in life's decisions. I believe if we put the hammer down and say NO WAY (to our kids), are you dressing up for Halloween, it can back lash. It can cause them to resent parents for years to come, and may even hurt their own walk with the Lord.

I wish we could change the day of dressing up and also change it to a real true harvest celebration. We all should celebrate harvest time as it is a time for joy as we enjoy the fruits of our labor at the years end. Exodus 23:16 You shall keep the feast of ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruit of your labor. So celebrating is a wonderful thing to do.

Here is how I would teach children about what the bible says:

Leviticus 20:6 ~ I will set My face against anyone who turns to mediums and Spiritualists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
Teaching children that if we dress like witches and goblins, we ARE glorifying evil,  and I would teach them to chose something more creative to dress up in. I think that is a fair way to handle that and make it a fun experience to be creative in how they dress up.

If I were a Christian parent, I would educate my children and allow them to make their decision, and pray for the Lord to protect my home and family as my children grow in grace and understanding of spiritual things. God is most certainly going to give us grace as we approach this controversial holiday prayerfully with wisdom.
I never had children, so its a tuff call I think. Share in COMMENTS how you handle this difficult situation with your own children. You may have some inspiration to share with us all!!!

Please do not dress your pet in a devil costume! ITS NOT FUNNY~ NOR IS IT CUTE!!! This is disturbing.... and how are you inviting evil towards your beloved pet?

Animals are smarter then people. That little puppy is scared of that guy in a devil costume. You can clearly see fear on the little pups face.

This is a pic on the internet on how to pronounce Samhain. Really, one must ask themselves, what does this represent? Do you think it is something that Jesus supports? Clearly the answer is, no!

This video will share about the tradition of Halloween. It is pagan folk ways.... pagan, the worship of many gods following rituals that pertain to that.

Here is another video that shows us how Halloween really is satan's holiday
It is my hope that these videos can help you and your family to make the right choices. Having wisdom on this is helpful as we are educated properly on the roots of Samhain.

Fall is a beautiful time of year. It brings in such rich colors and the warmth of a cracking fire as we roast hot dogs and make Smores. I would focus on that and not get caught up in the worries and fears of the season, which I know some do about Halloween. To be wise about satan's devices is important, but don't make that the main issue. Leave a legacy of how GOD has supplied for you throughout the year, giving Him thanks for how generous He is to bless you and your loved ones.

I pray that you are willing and wise to make sound decisions on Halloween. Giving God the glory and the honor is a really awesome choice to make!!!

Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to GOD the Father through Him.
Amen~

Thank you this is a fabulous article, yes, my grandchildren do not celebrate Halloween on Halloween night, they do try to take them to one of those harvest festivals maybe at a farm or at different churches and they wear costumes that are cute or non-demonic. One of the churches I went to years ago, passed out a copy of the satanic calendar for the month of October, and they have all kinds of rituals that they do on certain days heading up to Halloween night, it is definitely the devils high and holy day, and I hate to see Christians not understanding this. I remember when I lived in California the Humane Society would put out a notice saying that everyone needs to bring their black cats in for the week prior to Halloween and they would not adopt out any black cats from the pound or Humane Society because of ritualistic practices. My sister‘s husband was a police officer in Oregon and he would talk about what they would find in the hills after Halloween evidence of ritualistic things and animal bones etc. it’s pretty telling that Satan targets the children because it’s all about getting candy. What an evil plan!

So sad as to your family’s loss on this truly evil of all days. Satan has taken it & turned it completely on end. But you have articulated amazingly well & integrated teaching of Truth behind Halloween.

First of all let me say I'm truly sorry this horrific accident happened in your family and caused the loss of your dad! I grew up in a Catholic family and were taught Halloween, meaning holys eve was the Vigil of all Saints day. We were encouraged to dress like saints or angels, policemen, cowboys, princess's or anything fun and safe. We were taught to stay away from evil things because it could cause a spiritual attack. If you know anything about Catholics, our priests are well trained in Exorcisms! Most people don't know the origins of Halloween or any of our holidays for that matter. Everything is so commercialized these days. I'm older now and realize so much joy has gone out of holidays because it doesn't have the same meaning to us as it used to. I'm ready to wipe them all off the calendar and live everyday for God and enjoy all He gave us because that's all we need.
Thank you for sharing your story!

Very good article. I can relate to celebrating Halloween in the past, but having learned what we know now, I stopped several years ago. It’s important to stay informed on all the holidays we should avoid, and not just Halloween. I no longer celebrate Christmas or Easter either. Be blessed!
